Restarting and Starting Up Your AccountEdge Hosted Desktop

In some cases you may need to restart your AccountEdge Hosted cloud desktop. This may be required for installing certain software, updates as well as Windows OS updates.

If you use the Shut Down option from within your cloud desktop (via the Start Menu, etc.), you will need to restart the cloud desktop server from the Control Panel by logging into the your portal.

You can access the cloud desktop Control Panel via the portal URL below and enter your control panel login credentials provided via email. These credentials may be different than the user name and password used to log into your cloud desktop.

Control Panel Portal


After logging into the Control Panel portal, click on Virtual Machines from the left navigation bar. You will see across the bottom of the window options to Shut Down and Restart. If your cloud desktop has been already shut down, you can click Start, to start up your cloud desktop virtual machine.

To restart your server, choose Restart.

While the server is starting, restarting or shutting down, you will see the status of the process in the Status column listed next to your Virtual Machine name.

The other options available in the Control Panel should not be used including the Stop and Connect options (you should follow the instructions and credentials provided for connecting to your cloud desktop).
