January 1, 2020 Payroll Changes r23.3.1

  • New Federal tax tables.
  • Basic Claim changes for Federal and Provinces
  • New Provincial tax tables for: British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, NWT, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec and Yukon.
  • CPP - pensionable earnings, contribution rate and maximum contribution have been updated.
  • EI - Maximum Annual Insurable Earnings amount and EI Premium Rate have been updated.
  • QPIP - Max insurable earnings, premium rates, max employee and employer premium have been updated.
  • QPIP - Once the 2020 Tax Table is loaded, the QPIP Employer Expense will be updated.
  • QPP - contribution rate, maximum earnings and maximum contribution have been updated.

January 1st, 2019 Payroll Changes r22.3.3

July 2, 2018 - AccountEdge Pro r22.3.1

  • Ontario has rescinded the previously released payroll changes for July 1st. This update includes a new tax table dated July 2nd 2018 to reflect these changes.

IMPORTANT: If you haven't yet loaded the July 1st Tax Table, you will need to first load this table and then load the July 2nd Tax Table by going to the Setup Menu and then choose Payroll Updates. If you have already loaded the July 1st table, you will need to load the July 2nd payroll table from Setup/Payroll Updates.

January 1, 2018 Payroll Changes r21.3.3

The payroll tax table can be loaded by those customers on a Payroll Tax Service plan.

  • New Federal tax tables.
  • Basic Claim changes for Federal and Provinces except Saskatchewan.
  • New Provincial tax tables for: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, NWT, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec and Yukon.
  • Changes to the Nova Scotia basic personal amount and calculation.
  • The maximum CPP pensionable earnings will be $55,900.
  • The maximum annual insurable earnings will be $51,700 and the premium rate will change to 1.66%. (Quebec Premium rate will change to 1.30%).
  • Quebec tax table and thresholds have changed as well as the Basic Personal Amount and the deduction for Employment Income. The reduction rate has changed from 20% to 15%.
  • QPIP Maximum Insurable Earnings subject to QPIP premiums have been increased to $74,000.
  • The QPP contribution rate changed to 5.4% and maximum earnings increased to $55,900.

July 1, 2017 Payroll Changes r21.3.2

  • Prince Edward Island - Basic Personal Amount changed to $8320
  • Saskatchewan - new provincial tax tables
