GL Account Code - Procurement Card

When attempting to process a credit card payment, it's possible to get a message indicating a GL Code is needed. This message is generated if a Procurement Card is being used for a purchase.

If you are processing a regular credit card, such a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express, the Procurement Card check box should not be checked when processing a credit card payment. These are not Procurement Cards. See below.

What is a Procurement Card?

A Procurement Card is a type of company credit card that employees can use to purchase goods and services without having use a traditional purchasing procedure, such as using purchase orders. It's typically used for purchases that are less than $2000 in value.

When processing credit card transactions using regular credit cards, verify the Procurement Card check box is unchecked.

Through Forte Payment Systems (formally known as ACH Direct), users do have the ability to process Procurement Card payments, and in this case, the Procurement Card check box should be checked, and the purchaser will provide a GL Code.
