Backing Up To Dropbox Requires Version 2017 or later
AccountEdge uses Dropbox for an optional online backup and for syncing with AccountEdge Mobile and Rerun.
Dropbox dropped support of an older API which AccountEdge was using for syncing as of January 31st 2018. The API is a set of tools which lets AccountEdge connect to and read/write to your Dropbox account. In 2017 we updated the 2017 and later versions of AccountEdge to support their new API.
If you attempt to backup using an older version of AccountEdge you will receive an error message that an error occurs while backing up.
In order to continue using Dropbox for backing up your AccountEdge company file, you’ll either need to upgrade to the 2017 version of AccountEdge or manually backup your file to your Dropbox directory.
If you have Dropbox installed on your computer, when backing up manually from the File menu in AccountEdge, you can choose the "To a Disk" option and then navigate and choose your local Dropbox directory and save your backups to the same location which AccountEdge had in the past.
