Will my customized forms transfer over from my pre-10.15 version?

Yes, use the Migration Assistant to move your customized forms to this version of AccountEdge.

Is this a native, Mac version of AccountEdge?

No. This version is a modified version of our AccountEdge for Windows application that easily runs on macOS 10.15+ without the need for a Windows operating system or Virtual Machine (e.g. Parallels) product.

Will my subscription include future updates and upgrades?

Yes. As long as your subscription is current, when we update or upgrade AccountEdge, you’ll have full, complimentary access to those new versions.

What if I’m already on an annual Payroll Tax plan?

If you want to switch to an AccountEdge Pro subscription you can apply your remaining Payroll subscription to your AccountEdge for macOS 10.15+ subscription.

I’m on an older version. Do I need to upgrade first before I subscribe?

No, your subscription includes the current version of AccountEdge.

Is this desktop or cloud software?

Desktop. You can still use AccountEdge Connect with this version of AccountEdge, should you require cloud collaboration tools, but an AccountEdge (macOS 10.15+) subscription is for desktop software.

Can I return to my old version of AccountEdge if I cancel?

Yes, but if you are on an older version of AccountEdge, you may need to upgrade to a newer version of AccountEdge (legacy) to maintain company file compatibility.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel at anytime. You will continue to have read-only access to your AccountEdge software to view information and run reports. You will not be able to add new transactions. You can re-subscribe at any time.

Will my AccountEdge add-ons work?

Yes, credit card processing, Payroll Forms Service, AccountEdge Connect all work with this version of AccountEdge.

What is AccountEdge Pro (macOS 10.15+)?

AccountEdge Pro for macOS 10.15+ is a specially developed version of AccountEdge that allows you to use AccountEdge on macOS 10.15 and later without setting up a virtual machine.

What if I don’t have a constant internet connection?

Your subscription is billed monthly, so as long as you have paid for the month, you’ll be able to use AccountEdge without an internet connection. However, you will need to connect to our servers at least once a month to confirm your subscription is active to maintain access. If you reach your expiration date, and have not renewed, you will be put into a 7-day grace period. Once your grace period ends, AccountEdge Pro will go into Read-Only mode.

Why this approach? Why didn’t you just build a native, Mac version of AccountEdge for macOS 10.15 and later?

Beginning with macOS 10.15, Apple deprecated some essential frameworks that AccountEdge is built on top of. In the end, AccountEdge’s 30-year-old codebase proved too outdated to establish compatibility with Apple’s newest operating system. In spite of a multi-year project that involved a team of developers and analysts, it’s a project we were not able to complete. All that said, we’re pleased to offer a fully functional version of AccountEdge for those of you who need to upgrade your operating systems.

If I cancel my subscription, can I still use my previous version of AccountEdge?

Yes, your previous non-subscription, legacy version will still be available to you if you cancel your subscription for AccountEdge Pro (for mac OS 10.15+). Please note: If your legacy version of AccountEdge is not the most current release you may need to purchase an upgrade to access your company file or you may have to re-enter transaction data. If you are running macOS 10.15, your previous legacy version of AccountEdge will not work with your macOS.

Can I use AccountEdge Pro for macOS 10.15+ in a networked environment?

Yes, you can share your company file across a local area network using AccountEdge Network Edition.
